It was an exciting start to 2018 for Sonlife Youth, as we held our first ever camp, themed “BRAVE”. On 23 and 24 February, the youth stepped out of their comfort zone and took on challenges such as kayaking, rock climbing, nerf wars, selfie photo hunt and karaoke.
We had a rally each night where we worshipped and heard from God. The rallies were based on Romans 1:15-17:
So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
On Friday night we looked at what it means to be brave. The Apostle Paul was a great example of what it means to be courageous for the gospel. He showed us how a new life in Christ could stir a deep passion for us to do courageous things for God.
On Saturday night we explored how the gospel is powerful and empowers us to live courageous lives. The key to being brave is believing in the Power of God and living by faith.
Over that weekend, friendships were deepened, life-long memories were created and God was glorified. Pray that our Youth will continue to deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in their bravery for Him.
