On Saturday the 10th of March, the Young Adults transformed Mrs S Café in Maylands into their own cosy space for their first ever Worship & Vision Evening. The event saw many Sonlife YAs attend to fellowship, worship and hear how they can be challenged to go BEYOND in 2018!
The café was filled up by 7pm, as members of the YA Connect Zone mingled over delicious food and coffee served by the in-house barista. As the night progressed, we settled in for a time of passionate worship lead by our talented acoustic trio (Peter, Kat & Nat). After worship, we were encouraged by a testimony from a new Sonlife member, which explored the victories and challenges of being a new Christian.
The young adults were be challenged to go BEYOND, which is the Sonlife vision for 2018. We felt God impress on our hearts to grow in 2 areas:
- Devotion to the Word of God (hearing and experiencing the voice of God through Scripture)
- Building genuine relationships.
To help the YA delve into the Word of God, we will be using the S.O.A.P, (stands for, Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) tool. These Bible reading exercises will help us break down a passage, observe what the text is saying, note how it can apply to their lives, and finally, pray.
With Authentic Relationships being a core value at Sonlife Church, the YA team acknowledges the need for building genuine relationships, especially in this season in life. With loving God and loving people as our motivation, we are looking for ways that the young adults can develop deep and meaningful relationships.
